American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) website provides a wealth of information
for consumers on specific gemstones, enhancements to gemstones, coordinating
colored gemstones with fashion, and so forth.

I
worked for the Diamond Cellar jewelry store in Columbus, OH, before I moved to
Kansas City. The Diamond Cellar is one
of the largest independent – that is, not a part of a chain – jewelry stores in
the United States. It carries high-end
jewelry designer lines and about 20 Swiss watch lines.
The
Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the premier educational institution

National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) is the only appraisal
association in the United States that is devoted solely to gems and
jewelry. I have belonged to NAJA since
2003.
